Students must regularly participate in hospital ward rounds and clinical discussions.

Sixth Year – Internship / Residency Training

The final year consists of full-time hospital internship.

Students must complete training in:
  • General Medicine Department – 6 months
  • Three specialty departments – 2 months each

During this period, students:

  • Participate in ward rounds
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services
  • Perform medication review and patient counselling
  • Work under supervision of healthcare professionals
Break System for Pharm D

Eligibility for appearing Examination.― Only such students who produce certificate from the Head of the Institution in which he or she has undergone the Pharm.D. or as the case may be, the Pharm.D. (Post Baccalaureate) course, in proof of his or her having regularly and satisfactorily undergone the course of study by attending not less than 80% of the classes held both in theory and in practical separately in each subject shall be eligible for appearing at examination.

Mode of examinations.
  • Theory examination shall be of three hours and practical examination shall be of four hours
  • A Student who fails in theory or practical examination of a subject shall re-appear both in theory and practical of the same subject.
  • Practical examination shall also consist of a viva –voce (Oral)
  • Clerkship examination – Oral examination shall be conducted after the completion of clerkship of students. An external and an internal examiner will evaluate the student. Students may be asked to present the allotted medical cases followed by discussion. Students’ capabilities in delivering clinical pharmacy services, pharmaceutical care planning and knowledge of therapeutics shall be assessed.

Minimum marks for passing examination.― A student shall not be declared to have passed examination unless he or she secures at least 50% marks in each of the subjects separately in the theory examinations, including sessional marks and at least 50% marks in each of the practical examinations including sessional marks. The students securing 60% marks or above in aggregate in all subjects in a single attempt at the Pharm.D. or as the case may be, Pharm. D. (Post Baccalaureate) course examination shall be declared to have passed in first class. Students securing 75% marks or above in any subject or subjects shall be declared to have passed with distinction in the subject or those subjects provided he or she passes in all the subjects in a single attempt.

Eligibility for promotion to next year. All students who have appeared for all the subjects and passed the first year annual examination are eligible for promotion to the second year and, so on. However, failure in more than two subjects shall debar him or her from promotion to the next year classes.

Formative Assessment (Theory) Pattern
  1. Long Answer = 3 x 10 = 30
  2. Short Answers  = 6 x 5 = 30

Total = 60 marks

End Annual (Theory) Examination
  1. Long Answers (Answer 2 out of 3) = 4 x 10 = 40
  2. Short Answers (Answer 7 out of 9) = 6 x 5 = 30

Total = 70 marks

Diploma in Pharmacy

D.Pharm course is a diploma in pharmacy program of 2 yrs duration after 10+2 (science stream) which includes 2 yrs of academic study followed by practical training in government hospitals for 500 hours covered in 3 months. The main goal is to educate and train the students for practicing pharmacy. This is the minimum qualification to get registered as a pharmacist in India.

  • Affiliation: Directorate of Medical Education Board
  • Approvals: Pharmacy Council of India
  • Eligibility: Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent with optional subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany / Zoology or Mathematics.
  • Duration of the course: Two Years
  • D.Pharm Sanctioned Intake : 60 Candidates

Admission procedure for admission to D.Pharm

  • Candidates should have passed in the Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent with optional subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany / Zoology or Mathematics.
  • Candidates can directly apply to the college for the management seat.
  • Application for admission can be submitted online.
  • Management seats will be filled as per the directive of State Govt. as specified from time to time.
  • Application form completed in all respects should reach the Principal’s office along with the following documents.
  • Photocopy of mark sheets of the qualifying examination
  • Photocopy of Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
