Overview
Dr. B.Rama is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics at C.L. Baid Mehta College of Pharmacy, Chennai, with over 19.6 years of teaching experience and more than 2 years of industry exposure. She completed B.Pharmacy in 1999 and subsequently worked as a Production Chemist for 2.2 years. Then pursued M.Pharmacy in the Department of Pharmaceutics, completed in 2006. Since then, she been actively engaged in academia, contributing to teaching and research guidance. She holds Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, with research focused on novel transdermal drug delivery systems.
Dr. B.Rama has extensive experience in teaching undergraduate, postgraduate, and Pharm.D programs, and has guided over 45 M.Pharm and 80 B.Pharm research projects. Her areas of expertise include biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics, industrial pharmacy, and advanced drug delivery systems such as nanoparticles and transdermal therapeutics.
She has held key academic and administrative roles, including serving as Head In-Charge at Malla Reddy Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, where she actively contributed to curriculum planning, student mentoring, and institutional development. She has also organized national and international conferences and community outreach programs such as medical camps.
She has a strong research profile with over 57 publications, including a couple of book publications, along with contributions to national and international conferences. she is actively involved in research, with proposals submitted to AICTE and other funding bodies. She has published a book titled “Pharmaceutics: Basics, Dispensing & Dosage Forms” and has contributed as an evaluator and session chair at national and international conferences.
Dr. Rama is a life member of PCI, APTI and has received several academic recognitions including NPTEL certification, 100% results certification from college. Her combined expertise in teaching, research, innovation, and academic leadership makes her a dedicated contributor to the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences and healthcare.
