Admission Criteria

Admission to the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) programme shall be made in accordance with the norms prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and the affiliating University / State Government regulations.

Eligibility

A candidate seeking admission to the Pharm.D programme must have passed any one of the following examinations:

  1. 10+2 Examination
    • Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects
    • Along with one of the following subjects:
      • Mathematics
      • Biology
  1. Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm)
    • From an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.
  2. Equivalent Qualification
    • Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to the above examinations.
Age Requirement

The candidate must have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission.

Reservation of Seats

Reservation of seats shall be provided as per the rules of the Central Government / State Government / Union Territory Administration for the following categories:

  • Scheduled Castes (SC)
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST)
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC)

Duration of the Programme

The Pharm.D programme is a six-year professional doctoral course consisting of:

  • Five years of academic study
  • One year of internship / residency training

Each academic year shall consist of not less than 200 working days.

The programme is divided into two phases:

Phase I – Academic Study
  • First Year
  • Second Year
  • Third Year
  • Fourth Year
  • Fifth Year
Phase II – Internship / Residency

The sixth year consists of internship training in hospital departments where students gain practical experience in clinical pharmacy services under supervision.

Diploma in Pharmacy

D.Pharm course is a diploma in pharmacy program of 2 yrs duration after 10+2 (science stream) which includes 2 yrs of academic study followed by practical training in government hospitals for 500 hours covered in 3 months. The main goal is to educate and train the students for practicing pharmacy. This is the minimum qualification to get registered as a pharmacist in India.

  • Affiliation: Directorate of Medical Education Board
  • Approvals: Pharmacy Council of India
  • Eligibility: Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent with optional subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany / Zoology or Mathematics.
  • Duration of the course: Two Years
  • D.Pharm Sanctioned Intake : 60 Candidates

Admission procedure for admission to D.Pharm

  • Candidates should have passed in the Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent with optional subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany / Zoology or Mathematics.
  • Candidates can directly apply to the college for the management seat.
  • Application for admission can be submitted online.
  • Management seats will be filled as per the directive of State Govt. as specified from time to time.
  • Application form completed in all respects should reach the Principal’s office along with the following documents.
  • Photocopy of mark sheets of the qualifying examination
  • Photocopy of Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
